An update!
A recent excursion occured to Chain O Lakes where we roughed it out in the wild, under the beautiful stars. We chose our campsite carefully and then proceeded to collect firewood through out the area. I spent some time practicing my fire making skills as Eric put up mosquito defenses all around. We ate heartily of fruit and nuts, and drank jovially of a bottle of strawberry wine. We ended the night with smores and headed off to the tent. The weather was perfect and thusly we were able to leave the rain tarp off and gaze lazily at the night sky.
The next day we woke up and packed the place up. We headed out to hike some of the park's trails. We hiked approximately 4 miles total amongst beautiful sweeping prairie scapes and dense pond ridden forests. It was a lovely time overall. The future consists of more adventuring. Trips on the list include: turtle hunting, canoe trips, and rock climbing.
